On July 29, 2002   Timothy Michael Ardis    took his own life.

That is the  Million Dollar Question

Tim was a Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend

and Brother of Local #50 President Tony Ardis

Unknown to all of these people Tim was suffering from a Little

Understood Hidden Disease known as

Clinical Depression

A group of Tim's closet friends approached the Ardis family

with the idea of having a golf outing. It was during there initial

discussions that they, as a group, decided that Tim had such a great impact

on so many lives that they wanted to continue impacting lives in his name.

Thus they decided to form the Tim Ardis Foundation for Hope.

                                                Legally formed in July of 2003, the

                                    Tim Ardis Foundation for Hope  was dedicated

                                           to those suffering from depression and other mental illness.

They hope to prevent the inconceivable tragedy of suicide from happening to others.

Clinical Depression is believed by many to be the most common mental health problem

encountered in medical practice. Statistics predict as many as one in four U.S. adults

will experience clinical depression within their lifetime. But, despite the fact

depression has become so prevalent, it also remains very misunderstood

and all too often goes untreated.

The Tim Ardis Foundation for Hope will utilize a combination of

awareness, education and support in an effort to erase the perceived

stigma associated with this illness, and thereby return sufferers

and their loved ones to a better quality of life.
